Why is TPS and CTPS Cleaning so important?
The Telephone Preference Service now contains around 18 million registered numbers and cold calling any of these numbers can not only cause you problems with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), land you with a fine of between £5,000 and £500,000 and create bad publicity. If you operate in a regulated business such as Financial Conduct Authority (FCA - formerly the Financial Services Authority (FSA)), under the governance of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) or have a Consumer Credit Licence (CCL) then failing to properly check your data against the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) could cost you your licence.
There are two registers, the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS). Both registers operate on the basis that consumers (TPS) and companies (CTPS) can opt out of receiving marketing calls. Failure to do so is monitored by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) who in turn provide details on breaches to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) who take any necessary action against companies.
You are legally required to screen any cold call data against the TPS when targeting consumers or the CTPS (when targeting businesses) every 28 days. Many larger businesses screen as often as every day.
We offer several ways to clean your data against the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and Corporate Telephone Preference Service registers from single numbers, multiple numbers, small or large lists, integrated solutions that your developers can plug into your existing systems, an iPhone app and much more.
However you want to check your data the chances are we have it covered.
